Son of Peter and Dority (Unkown) Hart from Montgomery (now Garyson County Virginia. Sibling to James, Mark, William, Margaret (Mahala) Hart, married to Stephen Floyd, Peter Jr. Hart, John Hart and Nancy Hart,, married to Andrew Hash.

Son Stephen JR Hart married Martha Wells. Stephen sold his land in Knox County, Kentucky to his brother Joseph before 1870 and moved to Greene County, Missouri. Stephen is listed there in the 1870 census but is missing from the 1880 census. Martha with family moved to Addison, Labette County, Kansas, where they are now buried in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Also known as: Altamont Cemetery.
