Headline: Death Comes to Rail Shops Aide
Funeral services will be held Monday at 4 p.m. at Stephens for Chellis Rowell, 57, for 34 years as store room department executive of the Meridian Southern Railway shops, who died at Riley's hospital Sunday at 4 a.m. He had been ill several months.
The Revs. Ed Grayson and Estus Mason, Baptist ministers, will officiate. Burial will follow in Oak Grove cemetery.
Mr. Rowell is survived by three sisters, Miss Kate Rowell, Quitman; Mesdames Wilma R. Mixon, Norfolk, Va., and Estella Melvin, Poplarville; eight brothers, Marvin and Isadore, Meridian; Walter, Columbus, Ga.; Grover, Carriere, Miss.; W.A. Poplarville; M/Sgt. John, Fort Jackson, S.C.; Jack, Jackson, and M/Sgt. Grady Rowell, Fort Benning, Ga.
