A retired registered nurse with Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center and a resident of Baton Rouge, she died at 3 p.m. Friday, Jan. 5, 2001, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. She was 80 and a native of Livingston Parish.

Visiting was at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., from 3-8pm Sunday, with recitation of the rosary. Visiting at the funeral home from 9am until religious services in the chapel at 11am Monday, conducted by Deacon Phil BeJeaux. Entombment in Greenoaks Memorial Park Mausoleum.

Survived by her husband of 55 years, Leighton "Mop-Top" Achord, Baton Rouge; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Pat Achord and Barbara and Richard Wilson, all of Pride, and Debbie and John Cantu, Denham Springs; two stepsons and spouses, Wayne and Shirley Achord, Zwolle, and Lawrence and Pam Achord, Denham Springs; two sisters, Annie Chaucer and Mary Blahut, both of Springfield; a brother, Johnny Duczer, Gonzales; 12 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her parents, Mike and Mary Orosz Duczer; two brothers, Alexander and Mike Duczer; a sister, Elizabeth Durbin; and two great-grandchildren, Dawson Hughes and Joshua Achord.

Pallbearers will be her grandchildren. She was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Alzheimer's Association, 2041 Silverside Drive, Baton Rouge, LA. Obituary published in The Hammond Daily Star on: 1/8/2001.
