"Peter Bettinger - The rosary for Peter Bettinger, a Colorado resident for 32 years, will be recited at 8 p.m. today in Olinger, Speer blvd. Requiem mass will be sung in St. Louis Catholic Church, Englewood, at 9 a.m. tomorrow. Mr. Bettinger died Monday after a long illness. He was 87. He was born May 2, 1860, in Trier, Germany, and came to the U.S. when he was 21. He settled in Klassville, Ind., and was married there in 1885. His wife died in 1930. Surviving are nine sons, Peter of Golden; John C., Edward and George of Englewood; Joseph J., Clemens H., and Henry of Denver, and Frank and Lawrence of Gardena, Calif.; 26 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Four (should be five) other children preceded Mr. Bettinger in death." (Post 7 Jan 1948, p. 5, News 7 Jan 1948, p. 23)
