Oliver A. "Ollie" Lindauer, 95, of Belleville, Ill., born July 15, 1911, in Belleville, Ill., died Monday, Sept. 4, 2006, at St. Elizabeth's Hospital, Belleville, Ill.

Mr. Lindauer was a World War II Navy veteran served as a welder in the SeaBees until he was injured. He was a life member of the Disabled American Veterans. He was the former owner and operator of M & O Drapery business in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., for many years. He was an avid fisherman and a member of St. Augustine of Canterbury Catholic Church, Belleville, Ill.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Ida, nee Mueth, Lindauer; and a son, Allen Lee Lindauer.

Surviving are his wife of 77 years, Mercedes E., nee Engel, Lindauer, whom he married Nov. 22, 1929; a brother, Melvin (Patricia) Lindauer; a sister-in-law, Kathryn O. Engel of Swansea, Ill.; numerous nieces and nephews including, Paul (Laurie) Lindauer of Belleville, Ill., Mary Anne (Steve) McGlynn of Belleville, Ill., Marsha (Keith) Hohe of Belleville, Ill., Barbara (Mark Schusky) Lindauer of Belleville, Ill., and Alice (Colin) Kaufmann of Belleville, Ill.; and great-nieces and great-nephews.

Funeral: Funeral procession will leave at 9:45 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 7, 2006, from Pete Gaerdner Funeral Home, Belleville, Ill., for a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian burial at St. Augustine of Canterbury, Belleville, Ill. Interment will be in St. John's the Baptist Cemetery, Smithton, Ill.
