He was born April 27, 1894 at Tooban, Ireland and came to Monona County by 1920. On March 24, 1923 he was married to Mary Watson who passed away Nov 27, 1946. He was married to Jennie Wimer at Onawa, Iowa on May 21, 1948.
Mr. Cresswell chose farming as his vocation and enjoyed his work. He was especially interested in the raising of Shetland ponies and for many years the people of this area had the opportunity of attending the annual pony show at the Cresswell farm. Mr. and Mrs. Cresswell left the farm a few years ago to make their home in the Town of Blencoe.
Survivors include his wife, Jennie, two sons, Chester and James both of Blencoe, three sisters in Ireland and five grandchildren.
One daughter, Mary, died in infancy.
Services were held Friday, May 16, 1971 at the United Church of Christ, Blencoe, with the Rev Noel P. Orcutt officiating. Interment was in Graceland Cemetery at Blencoe.∼Creswell, Leithem
