Funeral service for Edward J. Heater, 78, pioneer resident of Adams county who died Tuesday in Gradview, Wash., will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at the Methodist church here with burial in the Ritzville cemtery.

Mr. Heater died Tuesday at the home of his son, Elliot Heater in Grandview. He had gone there last week after the funeral of his wife, Mrs. Elizabeth Heater, who died at her home here Monday of last week. Death was due to an intestinal obstruction, according to attending physicians. He had been in good health until recently.

Edward J. Heater was born Dec. 27, 1857 in Circleville, Ohio, where he spent his boyhood and early manhood. On Aug. 16, 1877 he married Margaret Elizabeth Snyder of Malta, Ohio and to this union seven children were born, four of who are still living.

He is survived by three sons, Elliott Heater, Grandview; Albert of Merced, Calif., and Earl of Babo, New Guinea and one daughter, Mrs. Nellie Wright of Billings Montana, thre brother, Sam Heater of Walla Walla, Harry Heater and Jake Heater, both of Dayton, Ohio, 13 grandchildren and one great grandchild.
