Obituary.

The funeral of Geo. C. Dutton occurred from the Sibley school house, May 1st. Dr. Amhyrst of the Methodist Episcopal church conducting the services. Mr. Dutton was born at Wolcott, Wayne county, New York, July 7, 1850, and died April 30, 1900 at his home in Sibley township, Kan. His death was the result of an attack of appendicitis. In 1868 he accompanied his parents to this county and in 1876 was united in marriage to Miss Ida Beckwith. Four children, Fred B., Edith A., Roy E., and Lawrence M., were born to this union, the first two being now grown into young people of promise and who will be a great help to the widow in her bereavement. Mr. Dutton was a man of noble character. As son, husband and father, no man may say aught against him. This constitutes good citizenship. His father and mother, aged respectively 86 and 82, speak of him in the most loving way. A good man has gone from us.
