Passed away at his home in Burbank on March 25, 2008. He was born to Gottlieb and Katherine Kiesz on February 20, 1927 and grew up on the family farm in Ritzville, Washington. He was a dry land wheat farmer all his life. He always said that he was happy being a farmer. He was a school bus driver for Washtucna, Ritzville and later at Burbank. Wilmer loved kids so driving the school bus was a joyful time for him and he had many stories to tell of his bus driving days. He would run into kids that he had on his bus and they would still remember him. Wilmer graduated from Ritzville in 1945 and was inducted into the Army in September of 1945. He was shipped to Korea in 1946 and was honorably discharged in 1947. In September of 1948 Wilmer married Darlene Borgens, they had two children; daughter, Janell and a son, Cory whom they lost at age 2 ½ . In 1964 they adopted their son, Kelly. Wilmer lost his first wife in 1990. In 1992 he retired from the farm, married Pat Davidson and moved to Burbank. He joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in 1993 and their marriage was solemnized in the Seattle Temple. Wilmer was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Darlene; son, Cory; and brother, Jim Huffman. He is survived by his wife, Pat; daughter, Janell (David); son, Kelly; step children, Michael (Sheila), Scott (Christine), and Steve (Lisa) Davidson; one brother, Larry (Della) Kiesz of Ritzville; 12 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
