Donald is survived by his wife Jane Ballew Pennington, his children; William (Beverly) Wallace, David Pennington, and Joe (Debbie) Pennington, he has six grandchildren; Tracy Wallace, Darren Wallace, Lynn Wallace, Blain Pennington, Bianca Pennington, and Matthew Pennington, and one great granddaughter Avery Wallace. His brother also survives, Ronald (Henrietta) Pennington. Two sisters-in-law also survive Donald, Wanda Pennington and Alice Ballew. Donald was preceded in death by his parents John Henry and Bonnie Johnson Pennington, and two brothers Tony and Virgil Pennington.
Funeral Mass will be Wednesday 11:00 a.m. Aug. 19, 2009 at St. Clare Catholic Church. Burial will follow in the Berea Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jim Bowman, Larry Combs, Mark Cox, Wayne Moore, Jimmy Lunsford, Glendon Reed, and Charles Barnett. Honorary pallbearers will be Wade Gay, Ray Treese, Melvin Higgins, Vernon Cummins, Ned Gilbert, and Maurice Coyle. Visitation will be Tuesday from 6-9 p.m. at Lakes Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.
