Funeral Service: The funeral service will be Saturday, June 21st, 2003 at 10:30 AM in the chapel of the Marvin S. Hicks Funeral Home.
Interment: Burial will be in the Stop Cemetery.
WENDELL BERTRAM, age 78, of rural New Castle, IN, died Tuesday afternoon, June 17th, 2003 at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, IN after a brief illness. He was born September 22nd, 1924 in Wayne County, Kentucky. He was the son of the late Dr. O.D. Bertram and Curtis Russell Bertram.
Mr. Bertram served in the Marines during World War II. He retired from Chrysler Corporation on September 30th, 2001 after 55 years of employment. He was a member of the Eagles Lodge and UAW 371.
Survivors include a brother-Porter Russell Bertram and wife Georgia of New Castle, IN, three nephews-Rondal Bertram and wife Sharon of Jamestown, KY, Charles and wife Mary Ramsey and Johnny and wife Linda Ramsey, both of Wayne County, KY; four nieces, Debra Caster and husband Don and Carolyn Givens and husband Greg, both of New Castle, IN; fourteen great nieces and nephews; and a beloved friend-Faye Retz of New Castle.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dr. O.D. Bertram and Mrs. Curtis Russell Bertram, his wife of 42 years-Dolly Ramsey Bertram, one sister-Aderine Frost and husband Ray; three brothers-Dean Bertram and wife Vera, Edward Bertram, Robert Bertram and one nephew-Roger Bertram.
He was a loving brother, uncle, relative and friend and will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
