Death of Geo. Bothell
On Saturday Feb. 25, 1899, the death angel released the spirit of Geo. Bothell from its pain racked abode of clay, and bade it enter into the realms of the hereafter, to enjoy the reward of a true and noble life. A large and sorrowing group followed the remains to North Chapel M. E. church where the services were held by Rev. Palmer assisted by Rev. Heilman. Interment was made in the Mt. Zion cemetery.
George Bothell was born in Pennsylvania, Dec. 24, 1832, died Feb. 25, 1899. He was raised in the United Presbyterian faith to which faith he adhered. In 1862 he enlisted at Rock Island in Co. I 126 Regiment Illinois Volunteer Infantry in which he served until the close of the war. In 1866 he was married to Miss Emma Todd, of Rock Island who died in 1867. By this marriage there was one son, George C. of Blue Hill, Neb. who survives them.
In 1874 Mr. Bothell was married to Miss Elizabeth Albrecht, of Watertown, Ill. who survives him. To this union were born three sons and one daughter all of whom are living.
For several years the deceased has been a constant sufferer but always patient. He was a kind and loving husband and father. He showed by his daily life that he was a constant Christian.
