Benjamin Rice served under Capt Jacob Moon and Col Charles Lynch in the War of Independence. He was Lieutenant in the Battle of Guilford Court House, N.C., 15 Mar 1781, and he was promoted in the field to Capt when Jacob Moon was killed. Died in New London, VA
