Wilson was born in Linville, LA on February 8, 1918 and passed from this life Wednesday, June 22, 2011.
Mr. Harrell was a resident of Haile, where he was a member of Haile Baptist Church. He was a retired master mason and was also self-employed. He enjoyed music his entire life and shared his musical gift with his church, family and friends. Wilson had an extensive collection of musical instruments and antique clocks, which he loved to repair. Mr. Harrell was nominated for a national "Ageless Hero" award in 1999 in recognition of his creative and musical talents.
He is preceded in death by his parents John and Mary Harrell; wives Hazel Bell Harrell, Kathleen Pardue Harrell, and Earline Crowder Harrell; daughter Hilda Williams; great-grandson Cohen Harrell, stepson Will Crowder and 8 siblings.
Survivors include his son Kenn Harrell and wife Carol of Haile, son J.N. Harrell and wife Brenda of Marion, and son Gary Harrell and wife Marcia of Haile; grandchildren, Elizabeth Harrell, Wade Harrell, Brad Harrell, Janice Jenkins, Derek Harrell, Bridget Fulton, Jeremy Harrell, Anthony Nations, Terry Nations, Timothy Gray, Tracy Wilson; step-children Carl Crowder, Jim Crowder, Kate Young, and Sarah Diekmann; and 17 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were grandsons and great-grandsons. Honorary pallbearers were Joe Wheeler and Tommy Pennington.
