Wilmoth Hardin Miller married William Henry Miller on August 8, 1896 in Sullivan, Illinois. Born in Tennessee on June 12, 1873. Died at her son Maon's home in Peoria, Illinois August 31, 1949 of a heart attack. Had been bothered with gall stones during her late years. Wilmoth worked for 50 cents a week before she married, doing housework. She was very proficient with her hands, making and building things - carved doll furniture. Wilmoth (Hardin) Miller had three sons: Harry James Miller, Maon Junea Miller and Ivan Bernard Miller. Wilmoth also made quilts and made most of her own clothing. In some of her surviving quilt squares and quilts, the family can still see the same fabric and patterns from the dresses she wore throughout her life.

Mrs. Wilmoth H. Miller, 76, of Villa Park, a former Peoria resident, died unexpectedly at 9 p. m. Wednesday at the home of her son, Maon Miller, 205 Ashton Ave. She and another son, Ivan Miller of Villa Park, had been visiting there since Tuesday.
Mrs. Miller was born June 12, 1873, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Hardin, and married William H. Miller Aug. 8, 1896, at Lovington. He died in Villa Park in 1944. She was a member of the Christian church.
Surviving are three sons, Maon and Harry J. Miller, both of Peoria, and Ivan, Villa Park; one sister, Mrs. Noah Wharton, Flatwoods, Tenn,; five grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. Two brothers and a sister are dead.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at Sullivan, and interment will be in Kellar cemetery, Lovington. Peoria friends may call at the Gauss mortuary until 3 p. m. Friday.
