Dorthey Mae Boykin,was born on July 19,1935 in Turner,Oregon.Her parent were Stanley Herold Adams and Cordelia Mae Clark-Adams.Dorthey lived in Williamette Valey, Turner,Marion and Jefferson Oregon.The family also lived in Lincoln City, D-Lake,Oregon.Until she was 11 years old.Then Dorthey and her famliy moved to Webster City,Iowa.They stayed 2 years there on grandfather William David Adams (W.D.) farm.Then the family mover to Council,Idaho.When Dorthey was in high school she played a tuba,and was in school plays.She graduated from Council high school 1953.Dorthey then moved to Salem,Oregon and lived with her mother's brother Carmen Edward Clark his and family. On Febuary 3,1954 Dorthey inlisted in the Women's Army Corps,"WAC" for 2 years.She served in the WAC'S in Germany.In the Autumn of 1953 her parents and family had moved to Weiser,Idaho.After she was discharged Dorthey visited her family in April 1955.She did not return to Idaho to see her famliy until 1984 and 1986.
Dorthey married James Edward Boykin.They had 5 wonderful children.They lived in Wahington D.C. from 1956-1966 then moved to Maryland.They lived at Forestville,MAryland for many years.
Dorthey worked for the Census Bureau for 22 years.
She did not return to Idaho again to see her famliy until 1984 and 1986.In 1956 another sister was born, Ruth. Dorthey and Ruth did not meet until 1984.It was great for the family to all be together.It was wonderful for the two sisters to finely meet.And everyone loved having her back home again.Unfortunately her father Stanley had passed away in December 1972.And her siter Betty lived in Utah was not there, but Dorthey flew to Utah to visit her.They had a great time.At this time Dorthey was very interested in genealogy.Betty took Dorthey to LDS church library in Salt Lake City to search for information on Edward Adams 1660,Virgina.She contenued with her genealogy research until her death.
On March 14,1993 at the age of 57 Dorthey passed away after being ill for some time with heart problems.
Dorthey was servived by her husband James,her two sons Robert (Bob) of California,Jerome (Jerry) Forestville,Md. and three daughters Jermae (Chris),Verna Boykin Forestville,Md. Forestville,Md. and Cordelia (Goldie)Labry of Virgina.One granddaughter Tiffany Lee Boykin,Weiser,Id..(And several more grandchildren were to be born in the future).Her mother Cordelia Mae Adams,Weiser,Idaho.Five sisters Minnie Ledington Yelm,Washington,Merlene Fowler Weiser,Idaho,Mary Shaw,Riggins,Idaho,Betty Bean Sandy,Utah,Ruth Cavazos,Weiser,Idaho.Two brothers Glenn Adams Harpster,Idaho and Walter Adams Weiser,Idaho.

Preceding her in death is her father Stanley H.Adams, he died on December 11 ,1972 in Weiser,Idaho.He is buried at Hillcrest Cemetery in Weiser,Id..Twin sisters that died at birth on September 18,1933 in Vida,Or. they are buried at Laurel Grove Cemetery in Sprinfield,Or.

Dorthey's oldest son Robert Stanley Boykin (Bob) past away March 28,2010 in Boise,Idaho.He lived in Payette,Idaho at the time of his death. He was a truck driver for many years and owned his own trucking company. At one time he worked as a hunting guide in Montana. When he went back to trucking his nickname and handle was Montana Bob.He loved to sing and preform at local bars for friends.He also recorded his own music.But past away before his first album could be sold.Bob loved hunting and fishing and camping.

Internment was in Maryland Veterans Cemetery,Cheitenham,Maryland.
