Martha Murray Brown, devoted wife of Dr. Samuel R.L. Brown,
and mother of +Michael Murray Brown (Vietnam veteran in Marines, and later Special Forces), Christopher Owen Brown (US Navy vet) Stephen Martin Brown, and Timothy Stuart Brown. Grandmother of Donna M. Brown, Laura M. Brown, and Carolyn Brown. She was born in 1913 to a poor Canadian farming family in Norval, Ontario. She attended business college in Toronto and also was an accomplished pianist having attended the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto. She came to the United States in 1939 and worked for the Toronto Mutual Life insurance company and the United States government. When World War II came she often volunteered extra time on behalf of the war effort. She married Samuel R.L. Brown, a veteran of the South Pacific in 1946. Mrs. Brown was known for her selfless devotion to her family and her unrelenting self sacrifice. She was the soul of compassion and often cared for the sick in her neighborhood. She also served as President of the Gonzaga High School Mothers Club.
