When World War II came she often volunteered extra time on behalf of the war effort. She married Samuel R.L. Brown, a veteran of the South Pacific in 1946. Mrs. Brown was known for her selfless devotion to her family and her unrelenting self sacrifice. She was the soul of compassion and often cared for the sick in her neighborhood. She also served as President of the Gonzaga High School Mothers Club.
