Mrs. Carrie Lulann Stillwell Freeman, 92, of Hickory, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, Aug. 30, 2009, at Grace Hospital.
Mrs. Freeman was born Aug. 3, 1917, in Burke County to the late Max Levi and Etta Florence Lail Stillwell.
She was a faithful member of Liberty Baptist Church and was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, James Boyd Freeman; a son, Specialist 4th class Gene Freeman killed in Vietnam; one infant son; and a daughter, Hazelene Bollinger.

Surviving are one son, Benny Ray Freeman of Connelly Springs; four daughters, Christine Robinson and husband, Glenn, of Hildebran, Shirley Mae Franklin and husband, Bill; of Connelly Springs; Ailene McCracken and husband, Bill; and Rita Faye Setzer and fiancée, Ken Little, all of Hickory. Also surviving are son-in-law Frank Bollinger of Hickory, 15 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Carrie Stillwell Freeman will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Liberty Baptist Church with the Rev. Gene Gouge officiating.
Interment will follow in the Friendship United Methodist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday at Liberty Baptist Church and at other times at the residence of her son Benny Ray Freeman.
