,86 year old, retired city policeman, died today JF Floyd Mortuary, the Rev J Ray Batson; burial Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Bullington retired from the Spartanburg Police Department in 1954 after 25 years of service. He died at his home, Magnolia St., Tuesday morning after a long illness.
For nine years prior to retirement, TC Bullington worked the Southern Railway depot beat on the evening shift from 3:30 to 11:30. He and his wife, Mrs. Rebecca Davis Bullington celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary last summer. He became a policeman at age 49. With a reputation for kindness and understanding, Mr Bullington frequently gave a stern warning to minor case offenders in preference to taking them to jail.
Surviving in addition to his wife are: son Albert B Bullington of Spartanburg; three grandchildren, six great-grandchildren.
