Mrs. Mary Bell Dies at Rock Creek

Mrs. Mary Bell died at her home in the Rock Creek district, near Auburn, Wednesday morning, March 20, at the age of 81 years, 6 months and 6 days.

She was the wife of "Pike" Bell, a well known miner who pursued his vocation in this vicinity with considerable success at one time.

Deceased was the mother of Joe, Ben, Ed, Lester and Alma Bell.

Her funeral was held from the undertaking parlors of Mehl & Hislop at 2 o'clock Friday. Rev. F.D. Conaway officiated at the services.

Interment took place in the Auburn cemetery.

When headstones only state the year, I have found it common that they rounded it to the closest year as in this case.
