Michael came to America with his two brothers, Jacob and John Adam, in 1842, from the village of Kleinfischlingen, in Rheinland Pfalz, not too far from Landau. He was one of the founding members of Immaculate Conception Church in 1843. He and his brother John were the first two marriages at Immaculate Conception Church in 1844 and 1845. Michael married Clerissa Zinzer, who was also born in Germany. They owned a farm and had eight children: Catherine Elisabeth (Steckel), Adam, Francis, Margaret, Henry, Gertrude (Hansen), Clara (Becker). Michael was almost 83 years old when he died.
