OBITUARY- Times Post, Houston, MS Aug 28, 1952

Mrs. Thurman Lowe, wife of the co-owner of the Chickasaw Handle Co., died at Houston Hospital Wednesday night about 9:30.
Relatives had thought Mrs. Lowe was on the road to recovery. She underwent an appendectomy at Vardaman Clinic. About that time her attending physician, Dr. Edmondson, became sick. Both were removed to the Houston Hospital. Pneumonia set in to further complicate conditions.
Funeral services will be held either today or Friday, with burial at Elzey Cemtery.
She was the former Miss Mary Gladys Fleming, daughter of Jim Flemings and the late Mrs. Jim Flemings.
She leaves her husband, Thurman Lowe of Houston and Pyland; five daughters, Helen Monette Lowe of Pyland, Mrs. Margaret Conway Griffin of Meridian, Mrs. Ethel Sharon Gilder of Vardaman, Miss Dorothy Elaine Lowe of Pyland, and Miss Iris Jeannie Lowe of Pyland; three sons, Sgt. James Davis Lowe of Pyland (home on leave), Sgt. Thurman Naron Lowe of Pyland (now stationed in Louisiana) and Franklin Cordell Lowe of Pyland. She also leaves two sisters, Mrs. Bill Spencer and Mrs. Talmer Chandler; one half-brother, Joe Lee Flemings and a half-sister, Mrs. Houston Ray.
Gerald Hamilton Funeral Home of Vardaman, is in charge of arrangements.
