Funeral for George Horton, 81, Apache, will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday in Becker Funeral Home Memorial Chapel, Lawton, with the Rev. Bud Jones, First Pentecostal Holiness Church, Apache, and Dr. Charles E Green, Baptist minister, Lawton, officiating. Mr. Horton died Wednesday (12-13-1995) in a local nursing home following a brief illness. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery.

He was born Jan. 30, 1914, in Lawton. He married Elsie Phelps on July 21, 1945, in Anadarko. He was a farmer and rancher in the Lawton area. He lived in the Lawton area most of his life. He owned and operated Horton's Dairy on the west side of Lawton, until he sold the business in 1963. He was a member of Mission Village Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters: Sharon Stephen and Mary Jane Jones; a son, Dr. Dan D. Horton; two sisters: Agnes McCallister, and Oleta Millard; a brother, Ben D.; 7 grandchildren; and 2 great grandchildren. (From The Lawton Constitution). [Obituary supplied by Ms. Clyde (#46994776)].
