SOUTH SIOUX CITY -- Shirley A. Graves, 75, of South Sioux City died Monday, July 9, 2007, at her residence.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Michael Catholic Church in South Sioux City, with the Rev. Daniel Wittrock officiating. Soloist for the service will be P.J. Graves III. Burial will be in St. Michael Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a vigil service at 7 p.m., at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Shirley was born Feb. 6, 1932, in Jackson, Neb., the daughter of Mike and Marian (Beller) Kuehl. She grew up in South Sioux City. She graduated from South Sioux City High School, where she was the salutatorian of her class.

She married Patrick "P.J." Graves on Sept. 27, 1952, in South Sioux City. He died Feb. 12, 2007, in South Sioux City. She was a homemaker and helped with the family business, Graves and Larson Auctions.

She enjoyed attending her grandchildren's activities and playing cards. She was a longtime member of St. Michael Catholic Church.

Survivors include her five children, Susie and her husband, Pat Livingston of South Sioux City, Debbie and her husband, Gary Larson of South Sioux City, Pat Graves and his special friend, Diane Corbin of South Sioux City, Tim Graves and his special friend, Mary Solma of Crofton, Neb., and Amy and her husband, Jeff Buryanek of Westfield, Iowa; a brother and his wife, John and Pauline Kuehl of Sioux City; 18 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Mike; a brother, Bob Kuehl; and a sister, Phyllis Romans.

Pallbearers will be J.J., Ryan and Beau Livingston, Colton, Joey and Jesse Graves, Tyler and Jimmy Buryanek and Seth Hintze.
