After her father's death in 1862, Emma was adopted by her Uncle Francis Bradley & Sarah Beaman Ruggles. In Luther Daniels Bradley bio, all his siblings are listed by name, except Emma who he refers to as an adopted family member, but loved as any other sister.

Amos "Baker" Bradley (brother of Francis) had a daughter named Emmaline b. 1859. His wife Emmaline died in 1897 in NY, has not been located on any census dated after 1860 [at some point she married a Melville Clemens]. Emma's other siblings are: Mary Isabella b. 1852 mar. Edward Emerson Helmer, she died 1913. Charles Baker b. 1855 d. 1893, Francis Henry b. 1858 d. 1862, and George T b. 1861 d. 1876 (All are buried at Rosehill Cemetery and Mausoleum in Cook Co., IL alongside their parents).

Emma married Edwin Anson Sperry in 1887. They had one daughter, Frances Bradley Sperry.

In 1911, Edwin took a staff position as Professor of Metallurgy at Pei-Yang University, Tientsin, China where he taught almost 24 years. The Sperry's lived out the rest of their lives on the University Compound. Edwin and Emma were cremated in China.
