Born October 27, 1916 in Sandy, Utah to Edith Brown Jensen and Evan O. Jensen.
She attended schools in Sandy, graduated from Jordan High School, followed by graduation from the LDS Business College in Salt Lake City.
Luana had a passion for doing things right, for doing the right things, for encouraging others to do the same and always worked to be well prepared and organized.
She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints with a strong personal testimony, serving in numerous church callings.
On May 31, 1941, Luana married Elvin L. Turner; later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. Together they became the parents of one daughter and three sons.
Luana was preceded in death by her parents, all of her brothers, two sisters, her husband and sons, Keith and Royce. She is survived by a sister, Lenore (Brent) Bird, daughter, Gayle (Craig) Petty, a son, Ralph (Judy) Turner; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Luana worked for several companies in their bookkeeping departments before finding her most pleasurable work as a school secretary in a number of schools in the Granite School District. After retirement, she served three LDS Temple Mission in the Philippines, London and New Zealand. Along with her missions, she traveled extensively to many countries in following her personal wanderlust and curiosity of other people and their cultures.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road (1700 West), Taylorsville, Utah, where a viewing for family and friends will be held at 10:00 a.m. prior to the services.
Following the services, interment will be held in the Larkin Sunset Gardens Cemetery, 1950 East Dimple Dell Road (10600 South), Sandy, Utah.
