Ocala - Betty Neely Broome, 83, of Ocala, FL passed away on Tues., Sept. 8, 2009 at Munroe Regional Medical Center in Ocala. Betty moved to Ocala from her native LaFayette, GA in 1992. She was a retired benefits plan coordinator for Union Tank (which became Transunion) in Chicago, IL with 25 years of service and was a longtime resident of Arlington Heights, IL during her career. Mrs. Broome was a member of First Baptist Church of LaFayette, GA. She is survived by son Robert Murphy Broome and his wife Lynda of Strongsville, OH; daughter Shirley Louise Moellentine and her husband Jim of Ocala, FL and granddaughters Jamie Moellentine and Claire Broome. Betty was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, The Late Grant Murphy Broome on Feb. 18, 1994 and two siblings. Funeral Services will be held on Sun., Sept. 13th at 12:00 Noon from Forest Lawn Funeral Home, Ocala with Rev. Weldon P. deMeurers officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens. Friends will be received from 11:00 AM until time of service.
