Son of John Strother and Eliza Willis Strother. Great Grandson of Rev. Joseph Willis, the first Baptist preacher West of the Mississippi River. Husband of Mary Jane Perkins (married Rapides Parish, July 18, 1869). Father of nine children:

1. Julia Ann. (Married Ephraim Gibson)

3. Mary Susan. (Married Alexander Strother)

4. Cora Ann.

5. Dr. Francis Edwin
