Francesca Dorthy was called Frances. she was the 3rd child of William H. Ernst and Louise Catherine (Hahn)Ernst.
Her obituary:
Mrs. Frances Liphardt, wife of F.B. Liphardt well known and long time resident of Tecumseh, passed away at her home here at 1:40 o'clock.a.m. Thursday, July 2, 1942. Mrs. Liphardt had been in failing health for the past eight years and bedfast most of the time for the last three years, a heart ailment gradually weakening her physical condition and contributing to her death. Her age was seventy-ine years, and six months.
Mrs. Frances Doris (Ernst) Liphardt was born January 2, 1871, at Hillsdale, Rock Island County, IL. the daughter of William and Louise (Hahn) Ernst, and came to Nebraska with her parents when one year of age. Mr. and Mrs. Ernst came to this country from Germany in an early day, she having come in 1853 and he in 1866, and they made their home in Nebraska from 1872 until thier death. Mrs. Liphardt was educated in the schools of the community in which she lived and on August 25, 1892, was married at the Ernst homestead near Graf to Frank B. Liphardt, who survives her. Mr.and Mrs. Liphardt would have been married for fifty years this August 25 and it was Mrs. Liphardt's wish that she be spared for the observance of the event. Mr. and Mrs. Liphardt established a residence in Tecumseh in 1915 and this has since been the family home. She was confirmed in the Lutheran church in early chilheood and became affliiated with the Methodist church after her marriage. She enjoyed church work and was active in the organizations of the community. She was a member of the Rebekah lodge and took pleasure in her association with the membership.
Mrs. Liphardt is survived besides her husband. by two daughters, Mrs. Fred Wirick of Kimball, Ne. and Mrs. Geneva Hewitt of Mountain View, CA. There are three grandchildren, Joseph and Robert Hewitt, sons of Mrs. Hewitt, and Mrs. Paul Sorenson, daughter of Mrs. Wirick; and one great granddaughter, Sonja Sorenson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Sorenson. Four brothers also survive, being William, Charles, Hreman and Edward Ernst, all of Auburn, Ne. also a sister, Mrs. Emma Paine of Cook, Ne. besides other relatives and a large circle of friends who will feel the loss of this good woman.
The funeral services will be held at 2:30 o'clock Saturday afternoon. July 4, at the Methodist church in Tecumseh. Dr. W.A. Albright, pastor of the church, will officiate and members of the Rebekah lodge will have a part in the ceremony. The burial will be in the Tecumseh Cemetery.
