Dorothy Peyton Oliphant was born the daughter of Earl Wesley Oliphant and Hattie Peyton. They are buried in Woodlawn Cemetery in Oelwein, Iowa. Dorothy was married to Lester Raymond Hoover on November 8, 1917 at the Sunshine Mission in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Lester is buried this cemetery. They were parents of six children: Donna Pauline (Hoover) Wright buried this cemetery; Charles Raymond Hoover buried this cemetery; unnamed twin baby girls dates unknown buried on home farm; Dean Myron Hoover; Mary Lou (Hoover) Jellison/Latham buried Maternity Cemetery in Bourbonnais, Illinois. After the death of her husband, Lester, Dorothy moved to Bourbonnais, Illinois and there she married Albert Sallalthiel Bloom on May 6, 1965 in Bourbonnais. ~Obit~ Mrs. Dorothy P. Hoover Bloom, 88, of Waterloo, Iowa, and formerly of Bourbonnais, Illinois and Walker, Iowa, died Wednesday, March 9, 1988 in her home in Waterloo. Mrs. Bloom was born on February 19, 1900 near Walker, the daughter of Earl Wesley and Hattie (Peyton) Oliphant. She attended the country schools near Walker, and the Walker Community School in Walker. On November 8, 1917, she married Lester R. Hoover in Cedar Rapids. Mr. Hoover died in 1958. Several years later Mrs. Hoover moved to the Bourbonnais area where she met and married Albert Bloom on May 6, 1965. The couple lived in Bourbonnais, Illinois. Mr. Bloom died in 1982. Mrs. Bloom moved to Waterloo in October of 1987. Mrs. Bloom was an active member of the Hoover Wesleyan Church for over 69 years. She is survived by two sons: Charles Hoover of Independence and Dean Hoover of Walker; two daughters, Donna Wright of Waterloo and Mrs. Mary Lou Latham of Bourbonnais; a step-son, Dr. Norman Wayne Bloom of Bourbonnais. Fifteen grand-children, twenty-seven great-grandchildren and eight great-greatgrand- children; two sisters, Mrs. Eileen Pates of Evansdale and Mrs. Evelyn Kugel of Waterloo; a brother, John Oliphant of Waterloo. She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, son-in-law George Edward Jellison, a great great-grandson Tristan James Peyton, a sister, Ruth DeWald and four brothers, Forrest, Glen, Ivan and Arthur Oliphant.
