MILLERSBURG: James F. "Jim" Ames, 87, of Millersburg, passed away at 8:00 a.m., Sunday, September 13, 2009, at his home.

Born December 5, 1921 in Coshocton County, he was the son of the late Edward and Mary Martha (Schlegel) Ames.

A very dedicated lifetime farmer owning and operating his farm, Jim also was a school bus driver for seventeen years for the West Holmes School District and was a Mill Creek Township Trustee for many years.

A long time member of the Shepler Church, he was a member of the Coshocton County Farm Bureau.

On January 28, 1943, he married Beulah Mabel Lewis who preceded him in death on February 17, 2004.

Surviving are three daughters; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; a brother of Fresno; a sister of Coshocton; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife and parents; Jim was preceded in death by three brothers, Raymond, Ralph, and Clarence Ames; and four sisters, Florence Funk, Myrtle Johnston, Esther Conkle, and Nellie Buchanan.

Private services will be held on Thursday, September 17, 2009, at the Free Funeral Home in Coshocton with Pastor Robert Angel and Eulogist John Conkle officiating. Interment will follow in South Lawn Cemetery, Coshocton.

Family and friends will be received from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 16, 2009, at the Free Funeral Home in Coshocton.

Memoriums may be made to the Shepler Church Memorial Fund, 47507 T.R. 217, Millersburg, Ohio 44654 or to Hospice of Coshocton County, P. O. Box 1284, Coshocton, Ohio 43812. Envelopes are available at the Free Funeral Home.
