Mr. Burghart was a lifelong resident of Salina and a machinist for the Union Pacific Railroad. He was a veteran of World War I and a member of the American Legion.

He was survived by his widow, Rosemary; a daughter, Mrs. Irene Martin; a brother, Mike; 3 sisters, Mrs. Pauline Alley, Mrs. Rose Miller, and Mrs. Margaret Bachofer and six grandchildren.
