TIBBIE — Leonard Rodney Akridge, a former railroad worker, died Wednesday (June 2) at a health care facility in Mobile. He was 71.
Akridge was a native and resident of Tibbie. Survivors include his caregiver, James "Baby Ray" Foster of Jackson, Ala.; one son, Lionel Ray Akridge of Satsuma; one daughter, Kathleen Parnell of Tibbie; two sisters, Mamie Martin of Chatom, Ala., and Dorothy Yawn of Aliceville, Ala.; and six grandchildren. Graveside services were Thursday in Tibbie Baptist Cemetery, with Lathan Funeral Home of Chatom directing.
