Willie J. Akridge was the tenth and last child born to Joseph Edward and Daisy Louise Dykes Akridge (Bosarge). He received his B.S. Degree from Livingston State Teacher's College in 1952 and his Master's and AA Certificate from the University of Alabama. He was a teacher, coach and school administrator working if Greene, Baldwin and Shelby Counties in Alabama. He retired in January, 1992 and was killed in an auto accident 14 July, 1992. He was married for 41 years to Winifred Hardy Allen and they had two sons, Walter Allen and Kevin. They also had three grandchildren. (Bio written by his wife, Winifred "Winnie" Allen Akridge.)
