NANCY ELIZABETH "Lizzie" GILMOUR was born in Hancock County, Illinois near La Harpe in October 1844. She was the seventh of ten children born to JOHN WILSON GILMOUR and his spouse, JANE ALEXANDER [BRONAUGH] GILMOUR and she spent her early years growing up in Hancock County, Illinois. In late 1850 after hearing about wonderful new opportunities in the Oregon Territory her father made plans to depart from Illinois and move the family there. In early April of 1851, after selling their farm JOHN WILSON GILMOUR and his family placed their belongings in covered wagons and headed for Missouri where they joined a large wagon train that would take them to their new home in Oregon. They arrived at Fort Vancouver on 10 September 1851 and settled briefly in Washington County, Oregon. After receiving a Donation Land Claim in Linn County, Oregon 3.5 miles west of Lebanon, JOHN WILSON GILMOUR moved his family there in the Spring of 1852 where they built a new home.

NANCY ELIZABETH GILMOUR was 14 when the 1860 U.S. Census recorded her as living with her parents and siblings in Lebanon, Oregon. On 29 December 1862, according to Linn County, Oregon Marriage Records, NANCY ELIZABETH GILMOUR was married to HENRY WISNER [born 1832]. No children are known to exist from this marriage and he died in Linn County, Oregon on 28 April 1869. In the 1870 U.S. Census she was listed at the age of 25 with her parents, JOHN W. and JANE A. GILMOUR in the Sand Ridge Precinct of Linn County, Oregon.

NANCY ELIZABETH GILMOUR was remarried on 1 October 1872 in Linn County, Oregon to a widower, TIMOTHY WOODBRIDGE DAVENPORT [a widower and father of four children, three of whom were living at the time of this marriage including HOMER CALVIN DAVENPORT]. TIMOTHY WOODBRIDGE and NANCY ELIZABETH [GILMOUR] DAVENPORT made their home in Silverton, Marion County, Oregon and became the parents of five children of their own: (1). TIMOTHY CLYDE DAVENPORT [b. 1873]; (2) ADALAIDE "ADDIE" DAVENPORT [b. 1875]; ALICE DAVENPORT [b. 1878]; GEORGIE DAVENPORT [b. 1880] and MARY DELL DAVENPORT [b. 1885].

NANCY ELIZABETH [GILMOUR] DAVENPORT and her husband TIMOTHY WOODBRIDGE DAVENPORT lived in Silverton, Marion County, Oregon until just prior to April 1911 when he died in Pasadena, California while visiting his daughters there. NANCY apparently remained with her daughters in the Los Angeles area after her husband died and she passed away on 15 January 1919 there and was buried in the Forest Lawn Cemetery in Glendale, California.
