Galatia--Magdalena Karst, 96, died Sunday, March 3, 1991, in Wheatland Nursing Center, Russell.

She was born Jan. 19, 1895, in Russell County, to Jacob and Anna (Mai) Dietz. She married Benjamin Karst Jan. 19, 1915 in Milberger. He died May 4, 1983. She was a homemaker and member of the United Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Milberger.

Survivors include two sons, Arthur, Galatia, and Leon, Rush Center; two daughters, Florence Veach, Ellinwood, and Viola Dumler, Russell; a foster daughter, Esther Nuss, Russell; 21 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren and 16 great-great-grandchildren.

Services are scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the church with Pastor C.W. Dietz officiating; burial in the Fairview Cemetery, Galatia. A prayer service is scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m. today at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home, Hoisington. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home, and from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. (obit cut off at this point).

Not mentioned in obituary: preceded in death by son, Col. Carl F. Karst, MIA Vietnam Nov. 16, 1968; buried Arlington National Cemetery Oct. 1993.
