grandfather of Tara, Jackie, Laura, Matthew, and Michael. Loving brother of
Emila Furst, Joseph, and Rico Montiglio. Decorated combat veteran of World War
II, having volunteered in 1940. Served with Merrill's Marauders behind enemy
lines in Burma he earned a Combat Infantryman Badge and Bronze Star. Past
President of the Long Island Metro Stan Musial Baseball League and manager of
the Levittown Giants, winning National Amateur Baseball Championship in 1977.
Reposing after 7pm Saturday at Charles J. O'Shea Funeral Home, 603 Wantagh
Ave, (Exit 28N SSPKWY) Wantagh. Service in Funeral Home Monday, 10:00am.
Interment Pinelawn Memorial Park, Pinelawn, NY. Family will receive friends
Saturday 7-9PM and Sunday 2-5 and 7-9pm.
