H. W. BARTLETT FUNERAL HELD
Life-Long Resident of This County Died Here on Feb. 14
Harlan W. Bartlett of Winterset died here Tuesday, Feb. 14, at the age of 83 years, was buried Saturday in Pleasant View cemetery. Funeral services were held Saturday morning from the Collins Funeral home in Winterset, conducted by the Rev. Charles Updike, pastor of the Winterset Foursquare church.
A retired farmer, Mr. Bartlett was a life-long resident of Madison county. He was born in Webster township Feb. 7, 1884, a son of Edwin and Sarah Richmond Bartlett. He attended the Macksburg Methodist church.
He was married at Winterset on Nov. 12, 1913, to Veleta Miller. She preceded him in death in 1950.
He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. John Allen of Prole; and two half-brothers, James Bartlett of Detroit, Mich., and Russell Bartlett of Independence, Mo. A son, Lloyd Bartlett, and an infant daughter preceded him in death.
