This monument was moved from John Gooch Burying Grounds near Fort Lawn, S.C. The cemetery was destroyed to build a house and the monuments was the only things saved, his remains are still at John Gooch Burying Grounds in Fort Lawn, Chester Co., South Carolina.
What a sad world we live in, to know a cemetery can be destroyed so a person can buy the land to build his home on!!
