'Great Migration' p. 93 for John Astwood records his second marriage "By 1635 Martha _____ "Martha Astwood the wife of John Astwood" was admitted to Roxbury church as member #135, among the arrivals in 1635, and shortly thereafter the admission of her husband". The same document indicates John Astwood married again in 1640 to Sarah Baldwin, widow, at Milford, Conn. Since Milford, Conn. was not initially settled until 1639, and if Martha actually died in 1638, it seems most likely she died in Roxbury where she had given birth to their one child, Hannah Astwood. There is no evidence Martha ever llived in Milford but there is evidence she lived in Roxbury. Most likely her husband John moved to MIlford (in 1639 or 1640) with their daughter Hannah, after Martha had died in Roxbury.
