Funeral services were conducted at 10:00 am Friday, July 5, at the First United Methodist church. The Rev. Loren Gardner, pastor, officiated. Burial was in Johnson Memorial cemetery.
She was born February 12, 1906, in Comanche County, Texas. She and Hurschel Harris Cowan were married June 25, 1927, in Goree. He preceded her in death on September 20, 1983.
Mrs. Cowan was a teacher in Knox and Haskell counties for 42 years, and will be long-remembered for her dedication to the youth of Munday. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma, First United Methodist Church, and Eastern Star.
She is survived by a son, Harry Cowan of Dallas, a daughter, Nancy Earp of Hurst, three sisters, Merle Dingus of Munday, Maxie Irland of Abilene, and Rita Longbotham of Buymon, OK, a brother, Bill Dingus of Pampa, four grandsons and one great-grandson.
