According to the 1915 Beardstown Illinois City Directory, Patrick Mulhern and his wife Lida lived at 1209 E. 3rd Street in Beardstown. Patrick worked as a machinist.

From the January 2, 1937 Illinoian Star newspaper, Beardstown, Illinois: Mrs. Patrick Mulhern Dies in Chicago. Former Resident of This City Victim of Attack of Heart Trouble Friday. A. E. Johnson, 901 Oak street and R. E. Johnson, 1017 Wall street left early this morning for Chicago called there because of the death of their sister, Mrs. Patrick Mulhern, a former resident of this city. Mrs. Mulhern died last night, the result of a heart attack. Mrs. Mulhern was 53 years of age at the time of her death and was born here. She lived here until she moved to Chicago with her family in 1926. Her father, James Johnson, preceded her in death. She is survived by five children. Cleon of California, Cecil, Leland Hazel and Betty of Chicago, four grandchildren, three brothers and five sisters. Her husband and her mother also survive.

From the January 4, 1937 Illinoian-Star newspaper, Beardstown, Illinois: Funeral For Mrs. Mulhern On Wednesday. Rites for Former Local Woman to be Held at 2:30 at Methodist Church Here. Funeral services for Mrs. Patrick Mulhern, who died Friday night in her home in Chicago, will be held here at 2:30 o'clock Wednesday afternoon from the First Methodist church. Burial will be in the Oak Grove cemetery with Fred I. Cline, undertaker in charge. The body will arrive here on passenger train No. 52 tomorrow morning and will be taken to the home of the decedent's brother, Reuben Johnson, 1017 Wall st. Mrs. Mulhern was born in Beardstown, August 16, 1884, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Johnson. She was married to Patrick Mulhern, July 18, 1901, who with their five children survive her. Her father died a number of years ago. Other survivors are her mother of this city, and the following sisters and brothers. Mrs. Charles Moore of Clinton, Iowa; Mrs. T. P. Fields of Springfield; Mrs. S. B. Hart, Centralia; Mrs. George Anderson, Kewanee; Mrs. Melvin Bollinger, Peoria; Mert Johnson, New York; A. E. Johnson at R. E. Johnson of this city.

From the January 7, 1937 Illinoian Star newspaper, Beardstown, Illinois: Funeral Services for Mrs. Patrick Mulhern, former resident of this city, who died at her home in Chicago Friday were held at 2:30 o'clock yesterday afternoon from the Methodist church with the Rev. T. J. M. Crapp in charge. "Rock of Ages" was sung by Mrs. Bonnie Derry-Reichert, accompanied by Miss Hazel Yockey. Flowers were cared for by Mrs. John Baxter, Mrs. Irvin Hierman, Mrs. Anna Kessinger and Mrs. Harold Anderson. Those acting as pallbearers were John Baxter, Clarence Grant, I. F. Hierman, Harold Anderson, William Davis, R. R. Rahn and Otto Swope.
