Calvin Cornell was apparently murdered while on a business trip to Detroit and buried there.
Because he was carrying a large amount of cash, his family suspected
foul play and had his body returned to Canada. Tests showed he had been
poisoned by antimony. A doctor, whom Calvin knew and accompanied him
on his trip, was accused, but a grand jury decided the crime was
committed outside Canada and washed its hands of the matter.
