William was born in the Netherlands on July 8, 1892. He married Rosaline Romkje Rozenburg in 1888 in the Netherlands.They had two daughters: Ida and Susie. In April of 1893 they came to America and settled first in Holland, Michigan. Rosaline died in Michigan. William's second wife was Alice Vander Schier...the widow of George DeGroot. They married in April 1906 in Michigan.Alice had three children from that marriage: Hilda, Frances and Angeline. William and Alice would have one son: William, Jr. He was born in 1907 and died in 1909. In March 1914 they all moved to Volga, SD.
