Longtime Butte resident Zelda C. Dallas died Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2009, in a local nursing home.

Zelda was born Thursday, Aug. 14, 1913, in St. George, Utah, to D. Henry and Suzanne (Wooley) Cannon. She attended schools in Salt Lake City and in 1935 married Bernard Harrington and moved to Butte; he died Feb. 25, 1957. She then married Gilbert G. Dallas who died June 19, 1995.

She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, First Ward and received endowments in Idaho Falls Temple on March 3, 1988.

Zelda is survived by her sisters, Viola Wooley of Salt Lake City and Norine Bills of Syracuse, Utah; sister-in-law, Alicha Cannon; daughter and son-in-law, Delores and Glen Gribble of Butte; grandchildren, Stephen Gribble, David Gribble and Dee Ann Cooney; great-grandchildren, Jamie Freeborn, Andrea Gribble, Ryan Cooney, Adan Cooney, Megan Gribble and Ryan Gribble; and nephew and his wife, Phil and LaVaun Dallas of Butte.

Zelda's remains are in Wayrynen-Richards Funeral Home, where friends may call beginning at 4 p.m. Friday. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Interment will be in Mountain View Cemetery.
