Jacob Lewis was first married to Mary Angeline Kyger in 1855 in Lawrence County IL. She died about 1857 (burial unknown). He then married Appia Laws in 1858 in Lawrence County IL. He served in Co. C 63rd IL Infantry during the Civil War. He lived most of his life in Lawrence and Richland Counties in Illinois, moving to Dunklin County MO sometime between 1900 and 1910. At his death, his wife Appia returned to Richland Co IL to live with their son Corydon.
