WIFE OF MELVIN MALLONEE DIES

FUNERAL AT DECATUR FRIDAY FOR SISTER OF LOCAL WOMAN

Mrs. Emma Klopfenstein Mallonee, 62, of R. R. 4, Decatur, died about 11:45 a.m. Tuesday in the Clinic Hospital, Bluffton, after an illness of two years. She had been seriously ill three months. Mrs. Mallonee was a member of the Monroe Methodist Church.

Surviving are the husband, Melvin Mallonee; two daughters, Mrs. Demitri Hendricks, Huntington, and Mrs. Thomas Clay, Seaside, Calif.; two sons, Donovan Burroughs, Fort Wayne, and S-Sgt. Robert Burroughs, in the Marine Corps in Memphis, Tenn.; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Jay Minger, Bluffton, and Mrs. Walter Somers; Decatur; a stepson, Louis Mallonee, Union City; two brothers, three sisters and nine grandchildren.

The brothers are Henry Klopfenstein of Albion and Noah Klopfenstein of Tucson, Arizona. The sisters are Mrs. William Ehrsam, Monroe; Mrs. Valentine Egly, Berne and Mrs. Clarence Bricker, Celina, Ohio. Two brothers and three sisters preceded in death.

Services will be conducted Friday at 1:15 p.m. in the Gillig & Doan Funeral Home in Decatur and at 2 o'clock at the Monroe Methodist Church, with burial in the Decatur Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. today.

Mrs. Mallonee Dies After Long Illness

Mrs. Emma Mallonee, 62, wife of Melvin Mallonee, of Decatur Route 4, died at 11:45 a.m. Tuesday at the Clinic Hospital in Bluffton. She had been ill of complications for two years and serious for the last three months.

She was born in Adams County June 22, 1898, a daughter of Peter and Mary Amstutz-Klopfenstine, and was married to Melvin Mallonee Jan. 24, 1924.

Mrs. Mallonee was a member of the Monroe Methodist Church.

Surviving in addition to her husband are two daughters, Mrs. Demitri (Neva) Hendricks of Huntington, and Mrs. Thomas (Gwendolyn) Clay of Seaside, Calif.; two sons Donovan Burroughs of Fort Wayne and Staff Sgt. Robert Burroughs in the Marine Corps at Memphis, Tenn.; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Ray Minger of Bluffton and Mrs. Walter Sommers of Decatur; one stepson, Louis Mallonee of Union City; nine grandchildren; two brothers, Henry Klopfenstine of Albion, and Noah Klopfenstine of Tucson, Ariz., and three sisters, Mrs. William Ehrsam of Monroe, Mrs. Valentine Egly of Berne, and Mrs. Clarence Bricker of Celina, O. Two brothers and three sisters are deceased.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Gillig & Doan Funeral Home and at 2 p.m. at the Monroe Methodist Church. The Rev. Willis Gierhart will officiate and burial will be in the Decatur Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. today until time of the services. The casket will not be opened at the church.
