Mrs. J. E. Emery Passes Away
She Failed to Recover from the Shock Produced by Operation for Appendicitis.
Summary
Mrs. J. E. Emery, nee Miss Luella Murray, died in St. Joseph's hospital in Omaha. On Sunday, 27 Nov after a brief illness. Mrs. Emery was operated on for appendicitis about a week ago and never recovered.
Luella Murray, daughter of W. R. Murray and wife of Mynard, born in Cass Co., 30 Jul 1864. Married 6 Sep 1884 J. E. Emery, who is a Burlington locomotive engineer. One child, Miss Lorene was born to the union.
About 12 years ago they moved to Lincoln. Mrs. Emery was not connected with any church organization but was a tireless worker in the Ladies Circle of the St. Paul's Methodist church in Lincoln.
Beside the husband and daughter, she is survived by her parents Mr. and Mrs. W. R. Murray of Mynard; 1 brother, N. J. Murray also of Mynard; 4 sisters, Mrs. C. M. Parker of Plattsmouth, Mrs. G. C. Fleming, Mrs. J. L. Longworth and Mrs. W. Truelsen all of Omaha.
Mrs. Emery's remains arrived at the Burlington station and were taken to her parents' home at Mynard, funeral from there tomorrow, conducted by the Methodist pastor, Rev. W. L. Austin.
