Another Cass County Pioneer Passes Away
Mrs. Caroline Henton, Aged 89 Years, Passes Away at the Home of her Daughter

From Tuesday's Daily.
This morning, at the home of her daughter in Mynard, Mrs. Caroline Henton, one of the oldest residents of the county, passed after a short illness due to the infirmities of old age. Mrs. Henton was taken seriously ill last Friday and sank into a semi-conscious condition from which she passed peacefully this morning. Born in Indiana 89 years ago, spending her early life there until she moved to Iowa with her husband and later moved to Cass Co. where Mrs. Henton located on the home place in Mynard. She leaves 3 daughters, Mrs. J. W. Johnson of Plattsmouth, Mrs. J. H. Adams and Mrs. W. F. Gillespie of Mynard. Services will be held Thursday from the Gillespie home in Mynard and interment in the Eikenbary cemetery south of town. The deepest sympathy of the entire community will be extended to the bereaved family in the loss of their mother and grandmother.

Plattsmouth – Nov. 14 – Yesterday was the funeral for Mrs. Caroline Henton, who for the past 32 years has made her home at Mynard, this county, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. W. F. Gillespie, where she died at 89. Caroline Bridges was born 9 Mar 1825 in Indiana where she lived some 30 years and where she was married William H. Henton. Coming to Iowa, locating at what is known as Henton station, between Pacific Junction and Council Bluffs. After 2 years they moved to Plattsmouth where they lived for 12 years and returned to Mills Co., IA until the death of Mr. Henton, when she came to live with her daughter, Mrs. W. F. Gillispie of Mynard.
Eight children were born, 3 daughters who survive; Mrs. J. W. Johnson of this city, Mrs. W. F. Gillespie and Mrs. Joseph Adams, both of Mynard.
Pall bearers were all grandsons, J. E. Johnson, F. H. Johnson, A. S. Johnson, Harry Henton, Fred Henton, John Chapman.
