My DNA results and the results of several other of this Mary McCurry's descendants point to her being a very close relative of Sarah McCurry and Edward McCurry, two children of John and Lydia (Williams) McCurry. There are no other McCurrys who she seems to be as closely related to, so I am assuming that Sarah and Edward are her siblings.

Sarah McCurry Gilliland (MEMORIAL ID 121975429) and Mary McCurry Henton are both my 3rd great-grandmothers, and I was delighted to finally realize that some of my living relatives who are descended from Mary-- but not Sarah--and have their DNA results posted on Ancestry come up quite clearly as being related to both Sarah and Edward. Before I started doing DNA research, I had wondered if Mary and Sarah might be sisters.

I believe that Dr. George Earle Henton was probably wrong about claiming that Mary was born in Connecticut. Her US Census record states that she was born in North Carolina, and there is no evidence that her parents ever lived in Connecticut.
